The ABB IRB 6700 is the successor to the IRB 6640: a six-axis, heavy-payload robot from 235 kg at 2.65 m to 150 kg at 3.20 m, with 0.04–0.06 mm position repeatability. Used units typically list around $18,000.
Each listing states its variant, condition, and included equipment.
Match the controller to your existing fleet for the simplest integration, spares, and programming.
Most used IRB 6700 robots come with the IRC5 controller in single- or dual-cabinet form, with the FlexPendant and RobotStudio offline programming.

ABB introduced the IRB 6700 in 2013 as a lighter, more service-friendly successor to the IRB 6640, with similar payloads and slightly longer reach. It is common in spot welding, material handling, and machine tending of large parts.
Check the variant on the nameplate: payload, reach, and repeatability differ by version. Units fitted with ABB's LeanID dress pack have reduced rated payloads, so ask for the full model designation.
Common questions about buying a used IRB 6700
In October 2026, used IRB 6700 robots with IRC5 controllers typically listed around $18,000 USD, with asking prices from about $14,000 to $27,600. 2019-and-newer units sit at the top of the range.
The IRB 6700 is the newer design with similar payloads, a slightly lower robot mass (1,250–1,280 kg versus 1,310–1,405 kg), and tighter position repeatability on most variants (0.04–0.06 mm versus 0.07 mm). Used IRB 6700 units ask somewhat more than comparable IRB 6640 units.
